Erin of Sigma Makeup contacted me last month about sending samples of their travel brushes so I can test out and review. She sent me 2 pink travel brushes, the large powder (F30) and duo fiber (F50) brushes. Also included was the ever famous blending brush (E25) which comes as a free gift to any purchases about $30.

I have the full size version of these brushes in pink which I purchased last year so it gave me a good basis on how their travel size brushes would compare to the full size ones.

General Impression:
Same with any Sigma Makeup packaging, they sent this brushes in a red lace bag. Also included are instructions on how to clean the brushes as well as detailed description of brushes included in the complete brush set.

The brushes came with a plastic protector which is great since I have something to protect the bristles when I put them in my makeup case. These do not come with the clutch which you get when buying the set so I find the plastic protector helpful.

The brush handles are about half the size of the full size brush in terms of length, and the thickness is just little bit smaller than the full size brush. I find the travel size brushes easier to use for personal makeup since I don't have to worry about hitting my mirror with the handle when I take the mirror close to my face.

Individual Brush Review:
Large Powder Brush (F30) - the amount of bristles of the travel size is about half of the full size brush. Still soft to touch this brush is still best for applying setting powder to your face. I find this handy as well to apply very subtle and blended contours and blush to your face. This however is too small to use for applying powder to the body unlike the full size one. Just like the full size, this brush bled a little during the first few washes. It gradually stopped as I wash it for few more times. I did not encounter any shedding yet for this brush.

Duo Fiber Brush (F50) - the amount of bristles of the travel size is about 80-90% of the full size which is good since you get the almost the same coverage as that of the full size one. This brush is my favorite since it is very versatile. I can apply foundation, highlights, contour and blush with this single brush. Unlike the full size brush, I haven't experienced any shedding yet using this brush.

Blending Brush (E25) - This brush has lately been my all around brush. I've posted several makeup tutorials on how to use this single brush to create an entire makeup look. I don't have the full size version of this, but what I like about the travel kit is that I can take my mirror so close to my face when doing my eye makeup without having to worry about hitting it with my brush handle. This brush comes free with any purchase worth $30 so I have duplicates of this which is really great specially when I use a wide variety of colors or do makeup for multiple clients in a session.

Overall, the travel size brushes sent to me are good in terms of quality and comparable to the full size brushes. If you are in a tight budget and yet wanting to have good quality brushes for less, then I would recommend that you purchase the travel size kit. Unfortunately, these brushes only come as a set and is not available individually. I do hope though that Sigma Makeup will also consider selling their travel size brushes individually. :) I highly recommend this brushes for personal use, but I would still prefer using the full size one for clients.

If you are interested in purchasing the Sigma Makeup Travel Kit Nice in Pink*, click here. The kit contains 7 essential brushes which are individually stored in a stylish metallic pink clutch equipped with a convenient pouch to carry all your must-have makeup items.

Brushes included in the kit:

Large Powder - F30 - Very dense with a rounded top. Ideal to apply powder products on face and body. Natural bristles.
Duo Fibre - F50 - Specially designed to generate an ‘airbrushed’ finish when used to apply liquid foundation. It can also be used to apply blush, highlight shades and loose pigments. Blend of synthetic and natural bristles.
Large Angled Contour - F40 - The angled shape makes this brush ideal to apply blush or contour shades. Natural bristles.
Eye Shading - E55 - Soft and dense with a rounded finish. Can be used to apply pressed or loose eye shadows and pigments. Ideal to build intense color on the eyelid. Natural bristles.
Concealer - F70 - The rounded, tapered, flat shape makes this brush ideal to conceal the under eye area. It is also recommended for a precise application in small areas. Synthetic bristles.
Tapered Blending - E40 - Rounded and tapered top. Specially designed to apply and blend color on the crease. Natural bristles.
Pencil - E30 - Precise application of color on the crease, outer corner, and upper and lower lash line. Also ideal to smudge out pencil liner. Natural bristles.

A free travel size foundation (F60) brush in black is included with this kit.

*Naughty in Black Travel Kit is also available with free travel size duo fiber (F50) brush in pink.

The products were sent by Sigma Makeup for review. All comments/review written about this product is on my own and was not in any means influenced by the sponsoring brand.

My sister woke me up today at 5:30 in the morning asking me to do her makeup. LOL I barely have 3 hours sleep so I was half awake doing this.

It took me an hour doing her makeup. She has pimple marks from previous breakouts so I used a green concealer to neutralize the redness. She wanted a very natural look so I had to cover the flaws and yet keep it as if her foundation was her skin. :) The trick - apply very thin layers of foundation and gradually build up only at certain areas that need coverage. Set with a powder and spritz with Evian mineral water and dab a moist disposable sponge against the skin to blend everything.

I was so sleepy and didn't have time to charge my cam so I was only able to get photos taken from her friend's phone cam.

Woke up late and didn't have breakfast + lunch since I don't feel hungry. At 3pm I felt like starving and since I am not a cook, I just prepared anything instant - corned beef and instant chicken noodles LOL! I am so hungry that I ate 1/2 cup corned beef, 1/2 cup chicken noodles and 1 cup rice without thinking.

After I satisfied myself, I then had to compute the calories. To my surprise.... the entire meal is at 970 calories... WTF! I had to throw up everything! :(

Have you noticed how a baby's feet look rosy? As we get older, due to sun exposure and skin aging, the natural glow on our feet is lost. Here are some tips that can help make your feet look healthy specially when you are looking forward to exposing your feet or wearing flip flops.

1. Cleanse - feet are often the most neglected part of the body so it is important to keep this clean to prevent skin disease or fungi.
2. Moisturize - if you have dry skin, it is important to moisturize your feet to prevent fine lines and wrinkles from developing early.
3. Exfoliate - make sure you scrub your feet at least once a week to remove dead skin. Dead skin makes skin look old and dark.
4. Apply SPF or Sunscreen - just like any part of the body, the feet also needs SPF specially if you love wearing flip flops or shoes that expose most of your feet.
5. Apply petroleum jelly or body butter to your feet before going to sleep.

Sometimes, even if you religiously take care of your feet, it's very hard to get that pinkish glow that we used to enjoy when we are younger. What I discovered is the Foot Blush. It is a foot spray with reddish tint when sprayed on to your feet it gives you this natural pinkish glow.

Have you tried using a foot blush? What is your favorite brand? The one I am using is the Banana Peel Foot Blush. It is an anti-bacterial foot spray with tea tree oil & triclosan to keep feet fresh with the appearance of a rosy, healthy glow. This, unfortunately, is only available in Philippines.

If you have other brands that you recommend, feel free to post as I would love to try other brands as well. :)

1. Would you rather go out with messy hair and nice make-up or nice hair and no make-up?
Nice hair and no makeup, I think I am ok without makeup :)

2. Would you rather shave your eyebrows or have your eyelashes fall out?
Have my eyelashes fall out since I can fake the lashes but definitely not the brows.

3. Would you rather be forced to shop at only MAC or Sephora for the rest of your life?
Sephora since there are MAC products in Sephora as well XD

4. Would you rather wear lip-gloss/lip liner look or 80s perm?
80's perm since I can just tie my hair or style it to make it look cuter.

5. Would you rather leave the house with an obvious foundation line or overdone blush?
Overdone blush since it can be a faked as a creative look.. the foundation line is definitely a mistake no matter how you look at it. :D

6. Would you rather wear MC Hammer pants or biker shorts in public?
Biker shorts, I can always wear a top that will hide or make it look fashionable.

7. Would you rather have a bad orange-y spray tan or really weird tan lines that cant be covered?
Weird tan lines.. I don't want to look orange no matter what LOL

8. Would you rather have a bad haircut or bad hair colour?
Bad hair cut since I always believe that a haircut only looks bad if one makes it obvious that it looks bad. If you pretend that you like your hair the way it is and carry yourself well then no matter how bad the haircut was, people will think its cool. I always experiment with my hair and people are used to seeing me with unique and different hair styles.. so people will just think it's just my new look LOL

9. Would you rather have YouTube or twitter taken away forever?
Twitter since Youtube gives me more entertainment.

10. Would you rather give up using makeup brushes or mascara?
Mascara since I can use a liquid liner to volumize my lashes using a spool brush :D

Hello everyone! I just joined this community site where I am able to repost most of the entries I post on this site. At first I was hesitant to try since I don't like maintaining too many accounts. When I started seeing most of my friends and beauty bloggers using this, I checked it out.

What is interesting about this site is that you don't have to be a full time or hard core blogger to enjoy its features.  You can read, post, share blog entries about Fashion, Technology, Health & Beauty, Design, Sport & Fitness and Entertainment. It's like having a facebook where you can comment and like posts too! You can add friends and subscribe to bloggers you want to follow.

Here's another unique feature that I am looking forward to enjoy soon on this site... based on the activities you do on there, you gain LUUUX $. For completing your profile, you can get as much as 500 points. Whenever you post, comment, like and share entries you also get points. Basically any activity you do has equivalent points. The more active you are, the more points you get.

So maybe you are asking what those points are for. These points you earn can be used to purchase items in their shop. The cool items that I've seen are MAC book, iPad, Louis Vuitton bags, Christian Louboutin pumps, Canon 500D DSLR, Burberry Check iPad Cover and of course my favorite brushes, Sigma Makeup Complete Brush Set! ^_~

I don't have much points yet to purchase products with my points so I am working on it :) Unfortunately, the countries that they ship products to are limited to Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Türkiye<, United Kingdom and United States.

If you are interested, click here or the button below. Add me as friend and also follow me there too! See yah!

Alright it's almost fall and as new season comes, means new makeup products coming out in the market woo hoo! :) I have been procrastinating about writing an entry about new cool products that Urban Decay released, so before it's too late... I better do it NOW. LOL

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion Professional Size (Limited Edition)
Finally Urban Decay listened to makeup artists and their fans' request! They released their popular eye primer potion in professional tube packaging. ;) Also, it is 150% more product than their original bottle.

This is really great specially for makeup artists since it is more hygienic and also faster to apply. What most people will love about this product is you can use it til the last drop! :) So no more dissecting the bottle days just to get all the product in the bottle :D

I am a bit disappointed to know though that this is only limited edition :( I just don't get it. This is will be more practical for makeup artists to use so why discontinue the product? I wish they reconsider and make this available forever.

This product retails for $29.

Naked Palette
THIS is how Urban Decay does neutral! Not like other neutral palette composed of boring beige shadows, this long, lean, seductive case is packed with TWELVE gorgeous neutrals. The shades range from delicate champagnes to dark, gritty gunmetal. Also this palette features FIVE NEW shades with names like Darkhorse, Virgin and Buck. What I liked about this palette is they added a range of textures, from glitter to shimmer to matte, so it lets you create different looks for different occasions.

The case is made of chocolate velvet color with the word “NAKED” in gold foil lettering. It has mirror and also includes Urban Decay's first double-ended 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil, featuring Zero (black) and Whiskey (deep brown). There is also a travel size Eyeshadow Primer Potion original formula included in the kit.

This product retails for $44.

Vegan Palette
Urban Decay is well known for making Vegan friendly products and more than half of their cosmetic line is vegan. For the very first time, they created a palette using exclusively vegan eyeshadows! How wonderful is that?

Six of their best-selling shades also just happen to be vegan so this palette is dedicated to their fervent vegan fans – those who “just say no” to using animal by-products of any kind.

The palette includes vibrant teal and a silvery money-green eyeshadows, in addition to four rich neutrals. The shadows included are - Minx, Urb, Gunmetal, Twice Baked, Smog and Half-Baked. Also in the kit includes a travel-size Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Sin and 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero. The palette case shows intricate artwork printed with soy-based inks on recycled packaging.

This product retails for $34.

Book of Shadows Vol. III (UD♥NYC)
Urban Decay released their 3rd Book of Shadows (Limited Edition). This will be available in Urbandecay.com on September 6 but they released 1000 of these in Sephora Times Square, NYC last August 28. These will not be available in stores until October 1.

Like their other Book of Shadows, it includes a mirror with pop-art of New York City and lights. The palette features 16 eyeshadows - Perversion (Matte Black), Uzi (Shimmery White), Loaded (Shimmery Dark Emerald Green), Kush (Shimmery Grass Green), Midnight Cowboy Rides Again (Shimmery Champagne Pink), Last Call (Shimmery Pinkish Plum), Rockstar (Shimmery Deep Eggplant), Money (Shimmery Blue-Green), Haight (Frosty Blue), Maui Wowie (Shimmery Gold), Smog (Shimmery Dark Bronze), Bordello (Shimmery Mauve-Pink), Radium (Frosty Medium Blue), Snatch (Frosty Peach-Pink), Suspect (Medium Bronze), Psychedelic Sister (Medium Purple-Red). It also includes 2 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils and a travel size original formula Eyeshadow Primer Potion.

I am not that excited about the packaging, to me it looks like crap. Sorry but the UD♥ NYC just didn't please me. It looks like they cut the letters out of newspaper and it's not my fancy. Anyway, even if the packaging looks bad to me, I would still love to get this since the shadows included are just dupe. :)

This product retails for $54.

If you are starting to build your makeup kit and wondering what brushes you need, here are some tips that I want to share with you. The most basic brushes that you need is something that is versatile and has multiple functions. Most of my recommendations are based on these considerations since you would want to make the most out of your money specially that good quality brushes can be expensive.

As for the brand, I recommend Sigma Makeup brushes - for those who are looking for affordable yet high quality brushes or M.A.C brushes - for those you are into high end brushes. I choose these 2 brands since their price is still within reasonable range and the availability of multi-purpose brushes.

Duo Fiber Brush (Sigma F50 or M.A.C. 187) - A large full circular brush used for lightweight application and blending of face powder or pigments. Use to create soft layers or add textures. Usually made from a soft blend of goat and synthetic fibers, this brush can also be used to apply liquid and foundation. It makes liquid or cream foundation application so easy. You will only need to stipple your brush until you get an even look.

Why is it versatile: You only need this brush to apply all facial makeup - foundation, setting powder, contour, highlights and blush.
Sigma F50 costs $16
M.A.C. 187 costs $42

Alternative: Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki (Sigma F80) - This brush is an alternative to the Duo Fiber brush but feels a lot softer. It feels like a powder puff or a sponge on the skin. This is a buffer brush that can be used to blend powder and liquid foundation.
Sigma F80 costs $16
Medium Angled Shading Brush (Sigma E70 or M.A.C. 275) - This brush has soft, smooth fibers and a full, angled design. Ideal to apply highlight shades underneath the eyebrow and on the inner corners. It can also be used for a precise application of darker shades on the crease area. Natural bristles.

Why is it versatile: You only need this brush to apply eye shadows to create a full look. Use the flat area to pat on base color, the angled edge to blend out colors along the crease, the tip to create a precise application of color. This brush is equivalent to using an eye shader brush, blending brush and a softer version of the pencil brush. You can also use this to blend concealer.
Sigma E70 costs $9
M.A.C. 275 costs $24.50

Alternative: Blending Brush (Sigma E25 or M.A.C. 217) - This brush has fine, densely packed fibers that are arranged in an oval shape. Ideally used to apply and blend color to the crease area and to soften harsh edges. Same with the angled shading brush, you can use this solely to create a full look just that it doesn't have a precise tip that can let you apply colors to very specific/small areas. This can also be used to blend concealers.
Sigma E35 costs $9
M.A.C. 217 costs $22.50

Optional Brushes:
If you have extra budget to purchase a lip brush and a small angled brush then I also recommend these. The lip brush helps you contour your lips better as well as help extend the shelf life of your lip products. The small angled brush, on the other hand, can be used to line eyes, and fill in brows.

OMG I got so excited when I saw that Sigma Makeup released the PURPLE retractable kabuki brush! I have been dying to get a purple brush so ye. ^_~

So for purple lovers out there, here's a good news :) The Sigma Makeup retractable flat top kabuki is the easiest way to apply powder products such as blush, bronzer, foundation, and highlighter on-the-go.

2 reasons why I love this product!
1. It's purple
2. It's a travel version of the amazing F80 brush!
